Hundreds of people protested outside Los Angeles City Hall on Saturday amid nationwide ‘No King’ rallies against US President Donald Trump’s immigration policy, tariff measures, and overseas military operations.

Footage shows protestors holding US flags and signs bearing slogans such as ‘Money for the war, no money for the poor’ and ‘Bebe’s bitch, Israel first’ among others. Some of the protesters were also spotted shouting at police officers deployed to the area.

“I am here because I think it’s important to show up and know that we’re all angry about what’s going on with our democracy in our country and our city,” one of the protesters, Mary Cloud, said.

“He thought it was so easy to just take over Venezuela and, you know, supposedly free the people and in reality, first of all, Iran is a completely different story, and I think this conflict is going to get him way in over his head, if he isn’t already,” another protester, Arial Stahley, added.

On the same day, the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) issued a Tactical Alert across the city due to ‘incidents’ near the Metropolitan Detention Centre. According to the police, multiple people were arrested.

The rally was part of a wider wave of ‘No Kings’ demonstrations, with millions of Americans reportedly joining more than 3,000 protests nationwide, including in New York, Minneapolis, Chicago, and Los Angeles.

The protests come amid Trump’s domestic crime crackdown, which has included deploying federal officers to cities such as Minneapolis, and his joint operation with Israel against Iran, launched on February 28.

The ‘No Kings’ movement is a coalition of groups protesting what they describe as abuses of power, corruption, and threats to democracy by the administration. Its anti-Trump demonstrations drew millions of participants across the United States last October.
