Deadly Mosque Shooting
Police Chief Scott Wahl confirmed that five people were killed including two suspected gunmen after a shooting took place at San Diego’s Islamic Centre on Monday.
“We have our two suspects that are deceased. We have three victims at the Islamic Centre. All three are adults. For a total of five people that are deceased related to this incident,” Wahl stated.

“The suspects at this point appear to have died from self-inflicted gunshot wounds. There were no officers involved in firing their weapons. <…> But that’s what we believe, two males. At this point, we believe them to be 17 and 19.” he added.
FBI Praises Response
FBI special agent in charge, FBI San Diego field office thanked the local police for their response which Wahl praised as ‘dynamic’ and ‘impressive’.

All three victims were adults. ‘All kids are safe’, assured Wahl. US President Donald Trump said he was briefed on the incident, calling the situation ‘terrible’.
Hate Crime Investigation
The campus houses the county’s largest mosque and Al Rashid School. Police reportedly said that the incident is being treated as a hate crime.
