A New Era in Personal Flight Begins
On 6 May 2025, Polish inventor Tomasz Patan introduced his latest innovation to Europe: a jet-powered flying motorcycle called the Volonaut Airbike.

Best known for developing the Jetson One eVTOL drone, Patan now takes personal flight to a new level with a machine capable of reaching 124 mph (200 km/h).
Ultra-Light Design Built for Agility
The Airbike weighs just 39 kg (86 lbs), thanks to a carbon fiber frame and 3D-printed parts. That makes it seven times lighter than a conventional motorcycle, allowing for faster take-off, easier control, and enhanced in-air agility.

The minimal weight plays a key role in both fuel efficiency and safety during flight.
Jet Engine, Not Propellers
Unlike drone-style vehicles, the Airbike operates using a jet propulsion system instead of traditional propellers. The bike includes an onboard flight computer and stabilization system, allowing riders to hover, maneuver, and remain balanced in the air with minimal effort. The rider has a 360-degree field of view, improving spatial awareness and elevating the sense of freedom.
Pop Culture Meets Innovation
A promo video released with the launch shows a rider in a Stormtrooper costume flying the Airbike, a clear nod to the Speeder Bikes from Star Wars.

The design and marketing both tap into science fiction aesthetics, appealing to fans of futuristic tech and thrill-seeking adventurers.
Targeting a Niche Market
The Volonaut Airbike adds to a growing category of personal flying vehicles, offering a solo alternative to large eVTOL taxis and hobbyist drones.

It is being positioned for commuters, adrenaline junkies, and aviation enthusiasts, thanks to its compact size, ease of transport, and user-friendly design.
Commercial Launch Still Pending
Although three successful test flight videos have been published on the official Volonaut website, the Airbike is still in development. Patan hasn’t revealed the retail price or release date but indicated a market launch is “highly probable” soon.
With its sci-fi design and powerful jet system, the Airbike could reshape how individuals think about short-range personal travel—blending innovation, speed, and pop culture inspiration in one sleek airborne machine.
