Rescue teams recovered bodies from beneath the rubble of a building destroyed by Israeli airstrikes in Choukine, southern Lebanon.

Footage filmed on Thursday shows emergency crews working beside a burning structure as bodies were transported to ambulances.

According to the Lebanese National News Agency, Israeli attacks targeted the outskirts of Choukine and the nearby Mayfadoun municipality. However, no official casualty figures have been immediately released.

The country’s Ministry of Health said the overall death toll from Israeli strikes since March 2 has risen to 1,888, with 6,092 others injured.

In a statement, the Israeli military said it had targeted Hezbollah positions in Lebanon.

The Israeli strikes came after US President Donald Trump announced a two-week suspension of US attacks on Iran, on the condition that Iran fully reopens the Strait of Hormuz. The announcement was made shortly before a deadline to reach a deal expired.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Iran would halt defensive operations if attacks cease, adding that Tehran would allow safe passage through the strait for two weeks in coordination with its armed forces.

Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said US and Iranian delegations are expected to meet in Islamabad on Friday to continue negotiations toward a comprehensive agreement.

On Thursday, the Lebanese government called for Lebanon to be included in the ceasefire agreement involving Iran, the US, and Israel, stressing that it will not accept any party negotiating on its behalf.
