Vigil in Paris

Protesters gathered at Place du Trocadero in Paris on Friday to honour Iranian and Lebanese victims killed in US and Israeli attacks since the war began in February.

Footage shows organisers with pictures of schoolgirls killed in the alleged US airstrike on a school on February 28, 2026.

“This vigil is for the children who were bombed at the school in Minab on the first day of this unjust and inhumane war,” said the vigil organiser, Fatemeh.

Calls for Action

Protesters urged the French government to condemn the US and Israel over the war in the Middle East and say they should stop providing support for the strikes.

“French government insists that it is not participating in this war […] but it does allow US aircraft to use French military bases for logistical purposes,” one of the participants at the vigil, Mirhamid, said.

Rising Casualties

“This is a historic war because it is the first time in history—for at least 100 years—that an Eastern country, in this case Iran, and Lebanon, have managed to stand up to American and Israeli arrogance,” demonstrator Adnan Azzam said.

He added: “This Iranian and Lebanese triumph will inspire the rest of the world to say no to American arrogance.”

According to media reports, US Tomahawk missiles struck a school in southern Iran, killing 170 people, mostly schoolgirls.

The attack, which caused the largest civilian casualty event, came at the beginning of the US-Israel war on Iran, on the same day that the late Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei was killed.

Meanwhile, in Lebanon at least 2,294 people, including 100 paramedics and health workers, have been killed since March 2, when Israel began its air and ground operations.
