Indonesia Condemns Treatment
Indonesia’s Foreign Affairs Ministry on Wednesday condemned the ‘inhumane’ treatment of activists who were captured by Israeli forces after the interception of the Gaza-bound flotilla mission in international waters.

“Israel’s military action against the GSF fleet and the volunteers within it is a clear violation of international law,” Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Yvonne Wewengkang said during a press conference in Jakarta.
Indonesian Citizens Released
After the press conference, the ministry, in a press statement, confirmed the release of all nine Indonesians detained by Israeli forces.

“The Foreign Minister has engaged in direct communication with Turkey, Jordan, and other friendly nations whose citizens also joined this GSF 2.0,” she added. “The protection of Indonesian citizens is our top priority.”
Global Response
Videos of activists kneeling on the ground with their hands tied behind their backs drew worldwide condemnation, with several countries summoning Israeli ambassadors in their respective countries to protest.
Gaza Flotilla Intercepted
Israel intercepted the Global Sumud Flotilla, a civilian convoy carrying humanitarian aid towards Gaza amid the ongoing blockade and severe shortages of food, medicine, and essential supplies. Israel has maintained that their blockade of Gaza was lawful and has rejected any wrongdoing.

Israeli naval forces seized all vessels in international waters earlier this week, detaining 428 participants from dozens of countries.
While the activists were initially held for legal processing, Israeli authorities later confirmed all remaining international flotilla participants had been released. They were then transferred to deportation flights to Turkey.
