Brazil House Tribute
A Brazilian superfan in Bangladesh’s Brahmanbaria has painted his house in the yellow and green colours of Brazil’s national team, showing his support for the Selecao during the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Footage filmed on Thursday shows the house adorned with the Brazilian flag and murals of legendary players, including Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Roberto Carlos, and Neymar.
“During the previous two World Cups, I painted the boundary walls of my house in the colours of my favourite team, Brazil. This time, I thought of redecorating for the 2026 World Cup,” said Rashal Sardar, a Brazil fan.
Sardar has supported Brazil since childhood and idolises Ronaldinho, Ronaldo Nazario, and Roberto Carlos. Among the current squad, he admires Neymar, who remains an idol for many young fans.
Fuelled by his deep passion for the Selecao, Sardar invested approximately Tk 160,000 (around US$1,300), and spent 18 days painting his entire house in Brazil’s iconic green and yellow colours.
Fans Draw Crowds
“He is a football-crazy person, especially a big supporter of Brazil. This time, on the occasion of the World Cup, he has painted his house in the style of the Brazilian flag. Since then, people from different places have been coming to see the house,” said Sanvi Ahmed Sadek, another Brazil fan.
Raihan, another fan, said they had previously only seen such houses on TikTok and Facebook. “Now we are proud to see a house painted in the colours of the Brazilian flag,” he added.
World Cup Fever
Although Bangladesh is not considered a major footballing nation, the country experiences massive World Cup fever every four years. Fans passionately support teams such as Brazil and Argentina, decorating streets with flags and celebrating matches as if their own national team were playing.
Brazil drew their opening group-stage match against Morocco and will face Haiti on Friday as they aim to take their first win of the 2026 World Cup.
