Chinese President Xi Jinping attended the opening session of the Fourth Session of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) as the event kicked off in Beijing on Wednesday.
Footage shows committee members attending the session at the Great Hall of the People, as well as reporters working.
Chairperson of the CPPCC National Committee Wang Huning delivered a work report on behalf of the Standing Committee of the CPPCC National Committee.
“6,778 activities were carried out by committee members to ‘serve the people’ in fulfilling their duties, and 11,115 activities were conducted to connect with people from their respective sectors,” he stated.
The CPPCC is China’s top political advisory body, holding sessions annually. The fourth session is scheduled to run from March 4 to 11.
