Davis Convicted In Tupac Murder
Duane ‘Keffe D’ Davis was convicted of rapper Tupac Shakur’s 1996 murder on Monday.
The clerk read the verdict of the jury: “The verdict reads as follows. We, the jury in the above entitled case, find the defendant, Duane Keith Davis, as follows. Count one, murder with use of a deadly weapon. Guilty of first degree murder with use of a deadly weapon dated this 31st date of August 2026.”
Davis, 63, was convicted by the 12-person jury after deliberating for about three hours following a weeks-long trial.
Prosecutors Detail Attack Role
Prosecutors did not accuse Davis of firing the shots that killed Shakur.
They argued he was behind the attack and supplied the gun after Shakur and members of his entourage were allegedly involved in the beating of Davis’s nephew, Orlando Anderson, at the MGM Grand earlier that night.
Memoir Became Key Evidence
The Las Vegas trial centred around a 2019 memoir in which Davis wrote that he had provided the weapon. Davis and his legal team claimed it was fiction used to sell books.
