Jiangsu University (JSU), one of China’s top-ranked public research institutions, has officially opened applications for its 2025 Presidential Scholarship. Designed to attract talented international students to its English-taught undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral programs, the scholarship offers full or partial financial aid covering tuition, accommodation, a living stipend, and comprehensive medical insurance.
This initiative reflects JSU’s commitment to nurturing global talent and promoting internationalization in higher education. As part of its mission, the university aims to create a dynamic academic environment that encourages cross-cultural exchange and innovation.
Generous Financial Support Across Degree Levels
The JSU Presidential Scholarship provides varying levels of support depending on the program and applicant background:
PhD Students: Full coverage of tuition and accommodation, plus a one-time living stipend of CNY 5,000. Preference is given to students from top 1,000 global universities, “First-Class Universities” in China, or those continuing from a JSU master’s program.
Master’s Students: Scholarships of up to CNY 25,000 are available for those with strong academic backgrounds or graduates from top-ranked institutions or elite academic programs in China. Other successful applicants may receive CNY 20,000.
Bachelor’s Students: Awards of CNY 10,000 are granted either as a one-time grant or annual tuition waiver. Eligible disciplines include Energy & Power Engineering, Finance, Construction Management, and Marketing.
The scholarship is open only to international students enrolling in English-taught degree programs. It is not compatible with other scholarship schemes, and postgraduate awards are subject to annual academic performance evaluations.
Academic Excellence Meets Cultural Immersion
JSU is based in Zhenjiang, Jiangsu Province—a city known for its ancient heritage, poetic landscapes, and tranquil riverside scenery. The university is recognized globally for excellence in research and innovation, particularly in engineering, materials science, and clinical medicine—fields ranked in the top 1% globally by Essential Science Indicators (ESI).
Currently, JSU hosts more than 1,000 international students from over 78 countries. Its Overseas Education College (OEC) manages academic affairs and student life, organizing language courses, cultural immersion events, and campus-wide festivals such as the International Culture Day and “Joy in Jiangsu” talent showcase.
The university also boasts modern teaching facilities, a well-stocked library, advanced research centers, and a high graduate employment rate exceeding 95%.
Application and Eligibility
To qualify, applicants must meet the following age requirements:
Bachelor’s degree: under 25
Master’s degree: under 30
Doctoral degree: under 40
Proficiency in English is required, but there is no HSK (Chinese language) requirement for English-medium programs. Applications must be submitted online by July 14, 2025, through the JSU admissions portal.
