Protest Outside Station

Dozens of angry protesters rallied outside St Anne Street Police Station in Liverpool on Wednesday, condemning law enforcement after footage emerged showing the final moments of Henry Nowak, a student fatally stabbed by an immigrant in Southampton last December.

Footage shows demonstrators confronting an officer outside the station, shouting ‘Take the knee’ and ‘I can’t breathe’, before gathering in the street with flags and chants.

“We’ve lost faith in the police; we’ve lost faith in the system. What if someone rings and says we’ve been racist? You’re left to die in the streets again on the streets because the police don’t want to be branded as racist,” one protester noted, criticising the ‘two-tier policing’ system.

“We’re getting overtaken by immigrants. And the more the police believe them, the more dangerous it is getting for us to be coming into society,” he continued.

Criticism Of Officers

Others criticised officers for approaching Nowak without first assessing his injuries.

“A dying man shouldn’t be left to die at the end of the day. He was stabbed, and he said, “I’m stabbed.” And the police, his exact words were, “I don’t think you are, mate.” So it’s completely ridiculous, it’s preposterous that the police let that happen,” one expressed.

Bodycam Footage Released

This comes after the shocking bodycam footage was released by Hampshire and Isle of Wight Police showing mortally-wounded 18-year-old Henry Nowak telling UK cops, “I can’t breathe” and “I’ve been stabbed.” The officers then replied, “I don’t think you have, mate,” before handcuffing him following false claims of racism made by his attacker.

Murder Case Outcome

The incident took place in Southampton last December. 23-year-old Vickrum Digwa was sentenced to life with a minimum of 21 years this week for murder. He carried out the attack with a 21cm blade he said he carried as part of his Sikh faith.
