Energy Supplies Continue
President Vladimir Putin said that Russia remained one of the largest suppliers of oil, gas and coal to the Chinese market and would continue to be so, following talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing on Wednesday.

“We are, of course, ready to continue reliably ensuring uninterrupted supplies of all these types of fuel to the rapidly growing Chinese market. Our high-tech company Rosatom is operating successfully in the Chinese market at the Tianwan Nuclear Power Plant, and the construction of Russian-designed power units at the Xudabao Nuclear Power Plant is nearing completion,” he stated.
The president added that relations between Moscow and Beijing had become a model for how ties between states should be built in the modern world.
Strategic Relations Strengthen
“This official visit is taking place in an anniversary year for Russian-Chinese relations. Twenty-five years ago, the crucial inter-state Treaty of Good-Neighbourliness and Friendly Co-operation was signed, thereby laying a solid foundation for the comprehensive development of a comprehensive partnership and strategic co-operation between our two countries.

And now, Russian-Chinese relations have reached a truly unprecedented level and continue to develop. At the same time, our relations are self-sufficient, do not depend on the current global situation, and serve as a model for how relations between countries and peoples should be built today “, Putin noted.
The president noted that the talks had taken place in a ‘warm, friendly and constructive atmosphere’, and that, following the talks, the parties had identified key areas for further co-operation.
Economic Agreements Signed
“A substantial package of intergovernmental, inter-agency and corporate documents has been concluded, totalling around 40. Some of them were signed here. Many of them are aimed at further deepening economic co-operation,” the Russian leader added.

The head of state also said that steady growth in trade between the two countries had reached nearly $240 billion in 2025.
Delegation Visits China
Putin’s visit to China is taking place from May 19-20. The delegation includes deputy prime ministers, members of the government and heads of major companies.
