Salah Gets Giant Mural Tribute
Turkish artist Yildiray Yildirim has turned a residential wall in Trabzon into a giant tribute to the city’s new football hero, Mohamed Salah.
Footage shows Yildirim painting a three-metre-wide portrait of the Egyptian star on the long garden wall of a residential complex in Ortahisar, with Salah wearing Trabzonspor’s number 10 shirt.

Yildirim said Salah’s arrival was ‘a great thing’ and ‘a huge asset’ for Trabzon, adding that the forward had boosted ‘the city’s brand value’.
“Salah coming to Trabzon is a great thing for us. He is a huge asset,” he said.
He added that the idea came after he asked residents who they wanted to see featured on the mural, with Salah being the overwhelming choice.
Locals Choose Salah Mural
“When we create a mural, our motivation comes first from the local community. We ask for the opinions of the people living in the neighbourhood, including the children. Here, the common choice was Mohamed Salah,” he revealed.

The artist said the mural stretches along a 42-metre wall near Trabzon’s botanical garden, with around three metres dedicated to Salah. The work took seven days to complete.
Yildirim also recalled a light-hearted moment when several Arab tourists apparently mistook the residential complex for Salah’s home, with some trying to enter before he explained that the mural had been painted there because it is a tourist area.
Salah Mural Draws Attention
Trabzonspor signed Salah on a two-year deal in August after his nine-year spell at Liverpool came to an end. He left Anfield with 257 goals in 442 appearances and eight major trophies, including two Premier League titles and the Champions League.
