Trump Shares FIFA Praise
Donald Trump revealed that FIFA President Gianni Infantino – the man he calls ‘Johnny’ – had asked him to present the World Cup trophy – as he spoke alongside NATO’s Mark Rutte at the White House on Wednesday.
“Johnny has done a great job. By the way, how hot is this?” he asked.
“And the Dutch are doing very well,” Rutte interjected.
World Cup Success
“You’re doing very well. Maybe we’ll play you in the finals. How hot has it been? It’s been great. You know, they came to the United States, which isn’t a big, as they would say, football, but we can’t because it’s too confusing. We say soccer. But it’s not, you know, very big at that. And this is the biggest they’ve ever had.
They’ve never had anything like it. The numbers are bigger than any number. And it’s great spirit. It’s tremendous. I think Johnny has done a fantastic job. And, yes, he has asked me to hand out the cup. The World Cup is taking place in the US, Mexico and Canada from June 11 to July 19.
