The Israeli military launched heavy airstrikes on areas in Beirut’s southern suburbs on Wednesday, hours after the United States and Iran announced a two-week ceasefire.
Footage showed the moment the strikes hit, with thick columns of smoke rising into the sky.
In a statement, the Israeli military said it had carried out “the largest co-ordinated strike targeting more than 100 Hezbollah command centres and military sites” within the space of 10 minutes.
The US and Iran agreed a conditional two-week ceasefire on Tuesday night.
Israel said the deal would not include the ongoing military offensive against Hezbollah in Lebanon.
