Angry Fans React
England fans in London struggled to swallow their side’s World Cup semi-final defeat to Argentina on Wednesday, as angry supporters poured onto the streets, prompting a huge police response.

Footage shows fans attempting to chase a young person wearing an Argentina shirt. Police escorted the individual to a vehicle, but supporters repeatedly blocked the van and chanted insults at Argentina captain Lionel Messi as officers worked to keep the crowd under control.
Chaos After Defeat
At least one person received treatment from medical staff at the scene amid the disorder.

England’s World Cup dream ended with a 2-1 defeat to Argentina in Atlanta. Anthony Gordon put the Three Lions ahead early in the second half, but Argentina turned the match around in less than 10 minutes. Enzo Fernandez equalised before Lautaro Martinez sealed the comeback in the fourth minute of stoppage time.
Argentina Reaches Final
The defeat means England’s wait for another World Cup title now stretches to more than 60 years, with their only triumph coming in 1966. It also marks a fourth successive major tournament in which they have reached at least the semi-finals without lifting the trophy.
Argentina will now defend their World Cup crown against Spain in the final at New York New Jersey Stadium in East Rutherford on Sunday, July 19.
