Floods Hit Zhejiang
Heavy rain triggered flash flooding and a mudslide in Huzhou, in eastern China’s Zhejiang province, killing one person and leaving three others missing in Changxing County.
Footage filmed on Saturday shows muddy floodwater submerging residential areas as locals wade through flooded streets. Inundated homes are also seen, with water being pumped out, while vehicles drive through floodwater on a highway.

According to officials, the disaster occurred at around 06:30 local time on Friday after a sudden spell of intense rainfall. Authorities initially assessed that a mountain torrent had triggered the mudslide.
Rescue Operations Underway
More than 80 firefighters and two provincial specialist rescue teams were deployed to search for the missing, alongside local emergency personnel and heavy machinery.

Around 5,000 rescue workers were mobilised across Changxing County as flooding cut off roads and forced crews to use boats to reach some affected areas.
By Friday evening, authorities said 10,474 people had been moved to safer areas across the county.
More Rain Risks Ahead
The rainfall came after the remnants of Typhoon Dolphin moved back over Zhejiang after the storm had already been declassified on August 11.
Provincial authorities warned that further heavy rain could continue to bring risks of flash floods, landslides and urban flooding.
