Building Suddenly Collapses
Search and rescue efforts continued in Delhi after the sudden collapse of a five-story commercial building in South Delhi’s Mehrauli area on Saturday, killing at least four people and wounding several others.

Footage shows authorities and rescue workers involved in a massive joint operation near the Saket Metro Station. Officials can also be seen trying to calm nervous residents gathered near the collapsed site.
Residents Describe Chaos
“The NDRF and SDRF teams entered the area and started removing debris. A few people who were eating and having tea were rescued and brought out. The owner is still inside. […] we were able to communicate with her, and efforts are underway to bring her out as well,” a resident said.

“I saw the security guard running out. At this point, no one knows exactly how many people were inside the building. But since it is a weekend, there may not have been many people present. On a normal working day, around 200 to 300 people work here,” he continued.
Survivors Pulled From Rubble
A senior police official confirmed rescue teams managed to pull 12 survivors from the rubble, with at least two in critical condition receiving care at the AIIMS Trauma Centre.

Search operations have now continued for over 16 hours as rescuers clear debris to locate more victims.
Round-The-Clock Rescue Effort
Joint operations involving personnel from the NDRF, DFS, Delhi Police, and DDMA are being conducted round the clock using special equipment like hydraulic cutters, victim-location cameras, earthmovers, and sniffer dogs.
