Peace Rally Begins

Hundreds of peace activists and the citizens of the city of Seoul came together in the middle of the city to protest against the recent military attacks in the Middle East. The citizens united in huge numbers to express their great concern with continued violence and the effects it had on innocent lives. The protest began at about noon and gradually gathered and increased the number of people joining the march. Banners, signs, and flags were all over the city center as the Catholics marched towards the central government territories.

The atmosphere was so grave yet peaceful, and most demonstrators had banners that required an immediate ceasefire. The point was not hard because it was to end the violence of the families and communities in conflict zones. The students, families, and the community groups participated in it, all in their hopes that there would be peace and safety for the civilians.

Voices for Peace

The march proceeded, and speakers stood on mobile platforms and addressed the community on the issues of diplomacy rather than military action. Numerous voices could remind people that violence is the source of suffering and loss, primarily to common people. Protestors also displayed the South Korean flag as well as peace signs that indicate that the local citizens would prefer their nation to consider peaceful resolutions and also shun any further warfare.

Slogans like “Peace Now” and “Ceasefire Today” reverberated on the streets. The protesters went through the main districts of Seoul and occasionally stopped to place signs and talk to the pedestrians. The majority of the people who watched it stood at the crossroads and listened, with some of them capturing photos or reading flyers being distributed by the activists.

Public Response and Safety

Since the march was held in the downtown areas that were busy, the local police attempted to guard the demonstrators as well as visitors that frequented the locality on a daily basis. The officers controlled the movement of the crowd and made sure that they diverted the traffic in order to prevent congestion. The event was peaceful all afternoon, although there were a few bus routes that were delayed.

The magnitude of the march and the intensity of feelings that it evoked were met with surprise by many locals. The protest helped to realize that not all the citizens of Seoul wish to witness further violence and that the world should strive to find peaceful means of handling everything.

March Ends Peacefully

Towards the end of the evening, the march ended without any great accidents. The final message given to the participants was that the world has to end violence and guard human rights. They hoped that their voices in Seoul would contribute to drawing attention to the necessity to have peace in the Middle East.
