US Strike Kills Four
Four people were reportedly killed after the US military struck a vessel in the Caribbean on Tuesday, in an operation it said targeted suspected narcotics trafficking.
Footage shows the boat speeding through the water before a sudden flash engulfs the vessel.
US Southern Command (SOUTHCOM) said intelligence indicated the vessel was travelling along established drug-trafficking routes and was actively involved in narcotics trafficking.
The military described those killed as ‘narco-terrorists’ but did not publicly identify them.
SOUTHCOM commander General Francis L. Donovan said, “The Joint Task Force Western Hemisphere continues executing precise, lethal operations against the cartels. We will hunt, disrupt, and defeat these narco-terrorist networks.”
US Targets Drug Vessel
The strike is the latest in a series of US military attacks on vessels Washington says are being used to transport narcotics through the Caribbean and eastern Pacific.
The date and location of the footage released by SOUTHCOM cannot be independently verified.
