Fans Back Brazil
Brazil fans in New Jersey backed the five-time world champions despite their 2-1 loss to Norway in the Round of 16 at the 2026 FIFA World Cup on Sunday.
Footage shows fans in high spirits watching the game at Newark Fan Village.

“It was a good match. Brazil lost because they chose to. Brazil had the opportunity the whole time – they controlled the match for the full 90 minutes – but unfortunately, the ‘monster’ (Erling Haaland) arrived and finished them off,” Brazil fan Mario Medina said.
Late Goals Decide
Norway led 2-0 by the 90th minute after two late strikes from Erling Haaland. Brazil tried to drag themselves back into the match, with Neymar Jr scoring a penalty deep into added time, but it came too late.
“My heart is broken. I think the team needed to be united. You know that with Brazil, you have to be strong. We’ll see – in four years, we’ll be back again,” another fan, Gabriela Sayani, said.

Isabel Gonzalves also backed the side, saying Brazil played well and “the match was wonderful.”
“Nothing was missing – it’s just what happens in a game: the winner wins. Brazil did what they could, but didn’t win because it wasn’t meant to be. Still, Brazilian soccer always stands tall,” she noted.
Historic Norway Victory
Norway have reached the World Cup quarter-finals for the first time in their history, surpassing their previous best runs to the Round of 16 in 1938 and 1998.
They will now face England in the quarter-finals in Miami on July 11.
