Sons Attend Funeral
The sons of Iran’s slain former Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei appeared at his state funeral in Tehran on Sunday, while his successor, Mojtaba Khamenei, was absent from the ceremonies for his father.
Footage shows three of Khamenei’s sons, Mostafa, Masoud and Meysam, praying over his casket at the Imam Khomeini Mosalla Grand Mosque.

Relatives were also seen at the ceremony, including Gholam Ali Haddad-Adel, the father of Zahra Haddad-Adel, one of the family members killed in the February strike.
Their attendance marked a rare public appearance by the late leader’s sons.
Successor Remains Absent
Mojtaba Khamenei, Iran’s current Supreme Leader, did not attend the funeral. He has not appeared in public since his appointment, with his official remarks so far delivered through recorded statements read by a news anchor on state television.

Funeral prayers were held in separate stages. The first was dedicated to Khamenei, followed by prayers for Bushra Khamenei, Misbah al-Huda Baqeri and Zahra Haddad-Adel.
Farewell ceremonies are expected to continue across Iran and Iraq until July 9, when Khamenei is due to be buried in Mashhad.
Foreign Delegations Expected
Iran said foreign delegations and religious figures were expected to attend, including Pakistan’s prime minister and senior representatives from Russia, China, India and Iraq.

The United States and Israel launched a joint military operation against Iran on February 28. Tehran later confirmed Khamenei’s, death, with his son Mojtaba chosen as his successor.
